“At A Bed and Breakfast in the Berkshires, my husband and I enjoyed the company of our delightful hosts, as well as the surprise of hummingbirds, bluebirds, and in the evening, an incredible firefly display from our vantage point of the screened-in porch. Flowers were everywhere, outside and in arrangements throughout the rooms. The breakfasts, with fresh fruit and berries just picked from the garden, and special waffles and pancakes made from Karen’s healthful recipes, began our days, and the conversation with our hosts around the breakfasts was engaging and informative. Our room had the most comfortable king size bed, enabling us to really relax and unwind. The small private bath highlighted the delicate vase of fresh flowers, with a fresh bar of specialty soap for an added welcome touch.”

“Inspiring setting! Will be back to enjoy more of the beautiful Berkshires and your gracious hospitality.”

“We stayed for a three day weekend, with two young boys (4 and 6 years) and their grandmother in tow. It was one of those rained out weekends one can only get in the Berkshires. Tanglewood on the lawn was very much touch and go, not to mention all the other outdoor activities we planned for the kids…. Karen showed us from the start how such details are not meant to get in the way of a good vacation, and she was right! Breakfast was great and so different every day, ask for the “crepes sauvages” if nothing else! The conversation …at the breakfast table was always interesting and fun and full of interesting factoids, whether about the Tanglewood history (Doane’s dad ran the BSO for a long time), nearby Shaker village or life in Uganda many years ago. The kids had a wonderful time and took to our hosts right away. Their grandmother had her own room and was delighted with the stay. Richmond itself, so close to all the happenings in the Berkshires and yet so far and quiet was the perfect refuge. We wholeheartedly recommend the Bed and Breakfast in the Berkshires!”

“What a wonderful spot to grow one’s thoughts and savor them as they should be. I can’t wait to return for another dose of gracious living.”

“This B&B is in a comfortable house in a secluded residential area just outside of West Stockbridge. It’s an easy 30 minute drive from all of the area’s sites (Tanglewood, Hancock Shaker Village, Naumkeag, etc..) and the restaurants of Stockbridge, Lenox, etc. Karen and Doane are lovely, engaging hosts and make you feel welcome in their home. The grounds of their property are beautifully maintained with a trail through very natural and relaxing settings. The room we stayed in was simple but comfortable and the breakfast of crepes filled with fruit from the yard and surrounding area was delicious. It felt more like staying with friends than in a commercial B&B. A great place to relax and strike out on day trips in the area.”

“Muffins! Mmmm good. Apple pancakes luscious! Beds comfortable, people all very pleasant. What more could one ask?”
